Faculty

Tracie Tesch- OwnerTracie Tesch has over sixteen years of training in Classical Ballet, Modern, and Jazz as well as over ten years teaching experience. The majority of her studies were with Dana S. Crain and Lynn Taylor-Brague of The Woodstock School of Ballet located in Georgia. She also attended summer programs at the Atlanta Ballet.

At the age of eighteen she performed professionally with the Kris Cangelosi Dance Project. She has also performed with Cherokee Ballet Theatre, Fayette Ballet, and in 1998 she toured the country dancing in the musical Camelot, starring Robert Goulet, produced by Theatre of the Stars. In 2000 Tracie graduated from Kennesaw State University with a B.A in Theatre. She has worked for The Westminster School in Atlanta as a choreographer for the children's summer Theatre Program. From 2001-2003 she taught for Mayra Worthen Ballet (now known as Ballet San Antonio Academy), and also conducted children's rehearsals for Ballet San Antonio's Nutcracker. Her choreography has been seen in the musicals "Grease", "From Us to You", and "Cinderella", produced by The New Braunfels Theatre Company. In October 2006, she attended a teacher course hosted by the Royal Academy of Dance. Recently she traveled to New York's Broadway Dance Center and participated in the "Summer Dance Fest Teacher Workshop" where she received a "Certificate of Achievement" from Broadway Dance Center and a "Certificate of Recognition" from Dance Teacher magazine. She is now excited to own and direct Ballet New Braunfels. 


Christina Bantin (Jazz/Dance Team Prep Instructor)

Christina Bantin- Jazz/Dance Team prep instructorChristina Bantin is currently teaching Jazz, Dance Team Prep, and Ballroom classes here on staff at Ballet New Braunfels. She recently worked as co-choreographer on the musical "Grease", "Cinderella", and "From Us to You" produced by New Braunfels Theatre Company. Christina is currently working as a ballroom instructor for Wanda Deagon Studio. She has also taught for Dance Tree in Houston. She trained in the styles of ballet, lyrical, modern, and hip-hop while performing on the dance team for Pearland High School and received honors of All American four years in a row.  Ms. Bantin traveled to New York to attend the "Summer Dance Fest Teacher Workshop" hosted by Broadway Dance Center where she recieved a "Certificate of Achievement" from Broadway Dance Center and a "Certificate of Recognition" from Dance Teacher Magazine.


Sara Povlish: 

Sara is teaching Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, and Ballet IB for Ballet New Braunfels.  She is currently in her third year at The University of Texas at Austin where she is pursuing a BA in Theatre and Dance as well as a BS in Communications Studies.  Sara has received several academic awards from UT, and she is the Vice President of Theatre and Dance in the Fine Arts Council.  She has recently been appointed Assistant Financial Director in the Senate of College Councils at UT.

Sara began her dance training with Deborah Case at Rio Grande Valley Ballet in McAllen, Texas.  While dancing with Rio Grande Valley Ballet, she took classes in ballet, tap, jazz, folklorico, and she danced in their annual "Nutcracker" Ballet several years.  She has also taken ballet classes at Ballet Austin, and is currently taking a Broadway Musical Theatre workshop with Robin Lewis, cofounder of TexArts in Austin.

Through her dance classes, Sara has had an opportunity to work with guest artists who danced professionally on Broadway.  She is also continuing her study of dance through classes at Ballet New Braunfels.  Sara has performed in several productions with the New Braunfels Theatre Company, and she also had the  opportunity to assist with choreography in some of these productions.
